Helping One of Our Own

Our good friend Rachel needs help. She needs surgery but is unable to make the down payment. She has exhausted all other options and her friends are her last help.

Rachel hurt her leg after a bicycle accident, tearing a ligament. The surgery is not considered life critical, so charities are unwilling to help. However, as I understand it, without the surgery she will be unable to do much more than walk around an office. Imagine having so much of your mobility taken away from you at such a young age. What would you do to change that?

Rachel also went into law school so that she could help those in need, fighting for just causes. It is cruel that so much would be taken away from someone who dedicated her life to helping others. She is also planning on going into the Peace Corps, but without the surgery she won't be able to follow that dream to help others.

This is a very real way in which we can do genuine good and help one of our own.
